This item I found recently, it came from a site which has the remains of a Roman Villa, this site has yielded very many grots and a couple of brooches, along with Samian ware fragments and pieces of roof tile. It appears to be made from bronze, weighs 37g. The broken end has a small trace of rust visible ...
